The NAUDL Launches Its New Website
The NAUDL is pleased to announce the launch of our new website.
The site has been designed to reflect the organization’s new
direction, according to Senior Program Consultant, Les Lynn, who has
led the revisions. “The overall intention is to project
the dynamism inherent in both urban debate and the NAUDL.”
Many of the changes from the previous website resulted from suggestions
and requests made by past users.
The new site allows users to connect quickly to the information and
resources that match their specific needs. The NAUDL website
is viewed and used by highly diverse constituencies, so the site functionality
divides materials specially tailored to Supporters, Coaches, Debaters,
UDL Directors, School Districts, and Newcomers to urban debate.
Nonetheless, each web page has a consistent format. The center
column reports the most recent developments of the organization and
the Urban Debate Network. The left column provides quick links
to the tailored content. The right column highlights the major
corporate and organizational sponsors of the NAUDL, including our
most prominent patron, the JP Morgan Chase Foundation.
Every page allows users to connect to the Urban Debate Network map,
the 60 Minutes segment on UDLs, and information on the Chase Urban
Debate National Tournament.
Users will also find top tabs that organize content pages providing
information and resources, such as newly written instruction resources
for coaches and new debaters. Those looking to build support
for the NAUDL will find easy access to materials highlighting urban
debate’s positive impact.
Some pages are still being designed and uploaded. When they
are fully completed users will be able to enjoy a comprehensive site
laying out the rationale for urban debate, NAUDL resources for its
constituents, descriptions of how UDLs operate, and the most recent
developments in local leagues nationwide.
Says Catherine King, the founder of Forma Design, our graphics
company: “There is a great deal going on with the NAUDL,
and with urban debate. I viewed it as my mission to try to get
as much of that activity and excitement into the site as possible.
Like other good websites, the NAUDL’s new website will be a
living thing, continually evolving and improving.”
